The Casa Tours Andes Explorer was an amazing 11 day trip. We covered so many different places and got to see a significant part of the country. Gomez and all of the guides were amazing and we would love to go back.

Awesome family adventure in the mountains of Chile

If you're an avid ski family looking for a great adventure, you will love the Andes Explorer. We were a group of 9 - 2 families, ages 18-60 - and had a blast.

Trip was an amazing intro to the spectacular and vast mountains of Chile, led by Casa's owner and SkiEO, Gomez Johnson. Rather than limit ourselves to one resort (eg Portillo), the Explorer visits FIVE (including the surreal cat-skiing operation, Arpa), and Gomez builds in time to explore Santiago, Valparaiso, a winery, the local market in Chillan (where you'll want to buy a pancho or two)... Gomez understands the mountains and ski towns like only a 30-year veteran can, so he knows where to find the secret stashes, best family-run restaurants, ski shops, espresso, yoga teachers...

Gomez was joined by 3 first-rate guides, all of whom were fun, experienced and safety conscious - comforting when traveling in unknown terrain in big mountains. That gave us the option to split the group when necessary - and preserve family harmony when the kids were looking for some breathing space.

While there is some van time, the drivers are pros and the movie selection was solid - The Big Lebowski, Raising Arizona, McConkey...
